The Adjudicator reserves the right to hear all or part of the above works, and to withhold the award if the necessary standard is not attained. The successful candidate will be asked to discuss study plans with the Trustees and to submit a report on completion of the scholarship year.
A good quality recording and completed entry form, together with written recommendation from the applicant's current teacher must be posted or sent electronically to The Competition Secretary at the Contact address, to be received by 31st January 2019.
ALL CANDIDATES will be required to submit a preliminary audition recording, which should
include the candidate's own choice of
1) a movement from a Bach solo Cello Suite
2) a Popper Etude
3) a concerto movement
PRELIMINARY RESULTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY 15th OF FEBRUARY
THE FINALISTS selected to play on Friday 12th April 2019 will be required to perform
the following programme from memory:
A) Bach - Cello Suite No.6: Sarabande and Gigue
B) Walton - Cello Concerto: 2nd movement
C) Roxburgh - Sonata for Cello and Piano: 2nd movement
